A less-than-lethal weapons engineer may use pepper spray to season her roasts. An arachnophobic shut-in may spend a fortune on draught-stoppers. A getaway driver probably spends hours at used car lots, pretending to be a prospective customer so he can test-drive all sorts of different vehicles. (Bestselling novelists get back pain and mutter to themselves on the train.) Big lives have small ā€“ but interesting ā€“ consequences. Your challenge today is to describe some!
